Estimating elliptic flow coefficient in heavy ion collisions using deep learning

چکیده
Machine Learning (ML) techniques have been employed for the high energy physics (HEP) community since early 80s to deal with a broad spectrum of problems. This work explores prospects using Deep estimate elliptic flow ($v_2$) in heavy-ion collisions at RHIC and LHC energies. A novel method is developed process input observables from particle kinematic information. The proposed DNN model trained Pb-Pb $\sqrt{s_{\rm NN}} = 5.02$ TeV minimum bias events simulated AMPT model. predictions ML technique are compared both simulation experiment. seems preserve centrality dependence $v_2$ also quite successful predicting $p_{\rm T}$ $v_2$. When subjected event additional noise, still keeps robustness prediction accuracy intact up reasonable extent.

Elliptic flow of deuterons in relativistic heavy-ion collisions
Using a dynamical model based on the NN → dπ,NNN → dN , and NNπ → dπ reactions and measured proton and pion transverse momentum spectra and elliptic flows, we study the production of deuterons and their elliptic flow in heavy-ion collisions at RHIC. The results are compared with those from the coalescence model. The deviation of deuteron elliptic flow from the constituent nucleon number scaling...
متن کاملElliptic Flow from Minijet Production in Heavy Ion Collisions
We calculate the contribution to the elliptic flow observable v2 from two–particle correlations in minijet production in ultrarelativistic heavy ion collisions. We use a minijet production cross section derived in a model inspired by saturation approach to high energy scattering. Resulting differential elliptic flow v2(pT ) is an increasing function of pT for transverse momenta below the satura...
متن کاملElliptic flow in heavy ion collisions near the balance energy
The proton elliptic flow in collisions of Ca on Ca at energies from 30 to 100 MeV/nucleon is studied in an isospin-dependent transport model. With increasing incident energy, the elliptic flow shows a transition from positive to negative flow. Its magnitude depends on both the nuclear equation of state (EOS) and the nucleon-nucleon scattering cross section. Different elliptic flows are obtained...
متن کاملElliptic flow from partially thermalized heavy - ion collisions ∗
We study to what extent the measured elliptic flow at RHIC constrains viscous deviations from ideal hydrodynamics. We solve a toy model where only transverse momenta are thermalized while the system undergoes longitudinal free-streaming. We show that RHIC data exclude such a model and thus require fast 3-dimensional thermalization. One of the most important discoveries at RHIC so far has been t...
متن کاملIn-plane elliptic flow of resonance particles in relativistic heavy-ion collisions.
We analyze the second Fourier coefficient v(2) of the pion azimuthal distribution in noncentral heavy-ion collisions in a relativistic hydrodynamic model. The exact treatment of the decay kinematics of resonances leads to almost vanishing azimuthal anisotropy of pions near the midrapidity, while the matter elliptic flow is in plane at freeze-out. In addition, we reproduce the rapidity dependenc...
